Applications Scientist – Microplate Readers Microarray Systems (m/f/d)

Job Description

We are seeking an Applications Scientist – Microplate Readers Microarray Systems to provide pre- and post-sales support for the Molecular Devices Microplate Readers. This includes hardware, reagents, and software, and may involve protocol development and applications support work in our laboratories or onsite at customer facilities.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in life science technology, with a BSc degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years of post-graduate work or experience. They will also have proficiency in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level support to existing and potential new customers, including technical and applications assistance in response to customer inquiries.
• Perform product demonstrations and support evaluations in the field, through remote or on-site visits.
• Perform assay workups and testing of customer samples in our laboratories.
• Prepare and present seminars to customers and potential new customers.
• Provide in-depth applications training to customers at their facilities.

Requirements

• BSc degree in life science technology, with an emphasis on molecular biology or biochemistry, and relevant postgraduate or industrial experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate work or experience, with demonstrable experience in life science technology, pharmaceutical, scientific equipment, or a similar organization.
• Proficiency in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Travel and Other Requirements

• Ability to travel, typically 2-3 days per week, with overnight stays as required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
