    SCOPE:
    The Area Sales Director is a manager in the sales organization. This position helps Sirtex achieve its objectives by actively managing the current sales organization of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Area Sales Representatives (ASRs), recruiting all new and replacement RSMs and ASRs, helping to manage the sales budget, and working with other functional team members to actively support the resources needed for the sales team to execute the agreed upon plan.

    NOTE: Candidates must live within the South Central territory which consists of TX, NE, KS, OK, MO, AR, LA and MS

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manages area sales budget and quotas
    • Works directly with the VP to implement strategies and tactics to help the team achieve budget
    • Develops recommended sales plan for all RSMs and ASRs 
    • Manages all sales expenses for his/her area
    • Actively recruits all new and replacement RSMs and ASRs
    • Makes recommendations for account coverage and territory geographies for Sales teams
    • Actively works with Marketing and Management in managing Key Opinion Leader relationships
    • Assists in Regional Sales Management and AOM development
    • Coordinates training for all existing and new RSMs, and ASRs
    • Creates sales programs in order to facilitate sales objectives
    • Works with cross-functional team to appropriately resource Sales team needs
    • Works directly with Marketing function to execute agreed upon strategies and tactics, including all new product launches
    • Keeps current with all continuing education on latest information related to disease states and the changing business environment
    • Compliance with AdvaMed
    • Minimum education: Bachelors Degree
    • Minimum 7years medical device experience required, experience in Oncology or Interventional Radiology strongly preferred
    • Sales management and sales experience in medical devices required
    • Ability to effectively deal with a variety of people ranging from patients to health care professionals
    • Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness
    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
    • Physical requirements including: sitting, walking, standing for prolonged amount of time, possible exposure to radiation and ability to lift up to 25 pounds
    • Travel 50% - 65% which can include weekends and holidays as needed
    • Current valid drivers license
