The role

Foundations Alliance’s mission is to accelerate the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and highly available digital products at HelloFresh. We do this by providing services and platforms that improve our internal software engineers’ productivity and the reliability of their applications.

We are looking for an Associate Director of Product for our Reliability Platform domain within our alliance who is highly passionate about developing the infrastructure services and building blocks for deploying, running and maintaining hundreds of micro-services reliably and performantly. In this role, you will have a large impact on the success of our business: you directly affect the experience of our end-customers world wide, and you enable our engineers to spend more time developing innovative features.

What you’ll do

• Develop and promote product vision and strategy for the Reliability Platform domain to equip HelloFresh software engineers with the right tooling to deploy, release, monitor and maintain reliable and performant micro-services and applications.
• Discover new product opportunities; validate and prioritize these opportunities based on data to assess impact and effort with appropriate confidence.
• Own and refine our multi-region cloud strategy, including deployment and observability patterns
• Refine and own the design of our Incident Management process
• Manage, coach, and mentor product managers in your domain.
• Break complex changes affecting core infrastructure designs and architectures into manageable iterations, enabling the continuous delivery of iterative changes.
• Work closely with engineering and product stakeholders across all HelloTech domains
• Define and monitor key product success metrics for your domain in collaboration with your team.
• Contribute to defining our goals, and to the successful delivery of our strategies as part of the Foundation Alliance leadership team

What you’ll bring

• You are an experienced product leader who is passionate about and familiar with building critical platform products for technical, internal customers in an agile environment, e.g. for developer platforms, data and ML platforms, or security platforms.
• Your customers are at the heart of all you do: you understand and anticipate engineers’ needs and have applied user insights to develop internal platforms before.
• You have a track record of using goal setting and strategy frameworks in a product context, e.g. OKRs or the “working backwards” methodology.
• You base your decisions on data and have defined and worked with success metrics for internal products before. You are familiar with development efficiency metrics (e.g. DORA).
• You have an understanding of best practices in software engineering, devops practices, microservice architectures, observability, and reliability challenges. You have worked with SLOs, and you are familiar with container platform concepts and CI/CD, logging, and monitoring tech stacks, e.g. Argo, Grafana, DataDog, etc.
• You have a good understanding of Incident Management processes.
• You are comfortable working with and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders - from developers to C-level executives.
• You are a passionate people manager, and as a leader you are familiar with coaching and mentoring concepts.
