Overview

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Stamping Equipment Manufacturing Engineer to design and develop new press lines or modify existing lines for the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg.

What You'll Do

• Design, installation and commissioning activities for stamping press lines (tandem and transfer) or other equipment (cranes) and small automations.
• Support equipment design RFQs.
• Provide direction and receive feedback from suppliers to ensure equipment quality and on-time delivery.
• Approve supplier designs and ensure adherence to equipment building standards.
• Lead equipment standard documentation development.
• Prepare a detailed program plan and visit suppliers to ensure timing goals are met.
• Schedule and facilitate equipment trials at suppliers and at TMF.
• Provide direction and leadership to Launch Support Team.
• Maintain a detailed documentation record of "as built" conditions.
• Provide direction to Engineering Techs and Engineering Interns as necessary.
• Provide a detailed list of high-priority spare parts.
• Update Equipment Tracking System.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience with exceptional ability).
• Stamping manufacturing experience/knowledge.
• Fluent in English.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical designs.
• Experience with stamping press line foundations and utilities is a plus.
• Good project management skills to manage press vendors.
• Aluminum Destacker experience preferred.
• Experience in safety acceptance of equipment including DIN/EN/ISO, CE guidelines.
• Willingness to travel, including possible international travel.
• Innovative, business-minded, team-player, organized and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
