Automation and Controls Engineer (m/f/d)

Our client is a leading and innovative industrial company within the energy and renewable space, with over 10,000 employees across multiple countries and a turnover of more than €1 billion in 2024. As part of their continued investment in operational excellence and advanced manufacturing, they are now seeking an experienced Automation and Electrical Controls Engineer to join a high-performing team and lead key electrical maintenance and automation initiatives at one of their production facilities.

This role plays a critical part in optimizing processes, improving safety and productivity, and enabling digital transformation in operations.

Overview

Role focused on driving electrical maintenance and automation improvements, ensuring safety, reliability, and productive performance in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and model world-class safety standards for a zero-injury environment
• Drive the performance of electrical and automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, S7, AWAQS, and Allen Bradley PLCs
• Implement innovative automation solutions and spearhead capital investment projects
• Develop training programs and mentor maintenance staff to enhance technical and troubleshooting capabilities
• Improve reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and external partners to enhance performance and efficiency
• Troubleshoot complex systems and optimize production quality and uptime

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of automation/control experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in industrial automation, electrical systems and process control
• Proven experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms
• Proficiency in tools such as SAP, maintenance systems, and Microsoft Office
• Hands-on mentality and strong problem-solving skills
• Fluent in German and English
• Willingness to work onsite and be responsive to plant needs (on-call required)
