Job Description

As an Automation Engineer in Technical Service, you will play a vital role in planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated processes and systems within our company. You will be part of a dynamic team developing innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency, quality, and productivity of our building systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation solutions: Create, develop, and implement automated systems and processes ensuring smooth operation of building equipment and machinery.
• Programming and integration: Develop control and automation programs for building systems, integrating these into existing infrastructure and connecting to our Building Management System (BMS).
• Troubleshooting and maintenance: Monitor automated processes to detect and resolve issues proactively. Support technicians with troubleshooting following safety and best practice guidelines.
• Process optimization: Analyze existing workflows and suggest improvements to increase capacity, efficiency, and quality, maintaining industry standards in automation and control systems across the plant.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, controls, and quality teams to support automation implementation in various projects.
• Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, protocols, interface descriptions, and reports related to automation solutions, including user manuals and maintenance logs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or a technical apprenticeship with at least 6 years of experience.
• Experience programming control systems (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC).
• Knowledge of automation solutions and technologies, including bus systems like ProfiNet, Modbus, OPC UA.
• Experience commissioning and validating automated systems is desirable.
• Understanding of networking and SQL databases.
• Familiarity with industrial standards and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and innovative problem-solving abilities.
• Team spirit and ability to work interdisciplinary.
• High initiative and sense of responsibility.
• Good communication skills in German or English.
