For our client in the energy branch, we are looking for an experienced Azure Disaster Recovery & Backup Architect to conceptualize and implement a robust backup and recovery strategy for mission-critical applications. The goal is to increase resilience and achieve defined recovery objectives (RTO/RPO).

• Start: September 15, 2025
• Duration: Until December 31, 2025 (extension possible)
• Workload: 60% (approx. 3 days/week)
• Workplace: 100% remote

• Analysis & Strategy: You will assess the existing Azure backup infrastructure, identify risks and gaps in recovery processes, and develop a comprehensive target strategy aligned with business continuity objectives.
• Design & Implementation: You will create concepts for backup and DR strategies for code, data, secrets, and identities, and implement them hands-on in Azure by configuring Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
• Testing & Validation: You will conduct tests to validate recovery processes, ensuring they meet the RTO and RPO requirements.
• Documentation & Training: You will create comprehensive documentation of the new architecture and processes, and train internal teams on the implemented solutions.
  
Skills

• Must haves:
• In-depth experience with Azure backup solutions (Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery).
• Expertise in developing Disaster Recovery strategies (RTO, RPO) for code, data, and critical applications.
• Hands-on experience in the configuration and administration of Azure services for backup and recovery.
• Experience in creating technical concepts and documentation.
• Proven abilities in risk analysis and compliance assessments (e.g., GDPR).
• English written and spoken.
• Nice to haves:
• Experience with immutability features in Azure.
• Knowledge of IAC, CI/CD, and DevOps practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, Terraform).
• Experience in training teams
