Back End Developer

Intervl are partnered with a fast-growing, mission-driven tech scale-up that’s transforming how EV charging works. Backed by leading investors they’re scaling quickly and looking for an exceptional backend engineer to shape the future of clean transport.

You’ll be part of a small, ambitious team where your code will have a direct, visible impact. They’re working on complex challenges spanning EV charging, payments, connectivity, and data and are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who’s as passionate about elegant architecture as they are about building a more sustainable future.

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining backend services using Python with Django and FastAPI.
• Building robust APIs and scalable systems to support payments, routing, and EV protocols.
• Collaborating closely with product and leadership teams to understand needs and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Owning features end-to-end, from architecture and development through to deployment.
• Managing complex data workflows across SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and using data tools like Pandas.
• Driving engineering best practices through code reviews, architecture discussions, and CI/CD improvements.
• Working with modern cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud preferred, AWS also valued).

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with strong Python expertise.
• Proficiency in Django and FastAPI.
• Strong database skills (SQL & NoSQL) and experience with scalable API design.
• Cloud deployment experience (Google Cloud or AWS).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Based in or near Berlin.
