BESS Bid Manager – Equans

Join Equans Solar and Storage, a specialized brand of the Bouygues Group, as a BESS Bid Manager. Equans is a global renewable energy partner that delivers solar PV and battery energy storage systems across Europe and beyond, operating more than 1,500 experts in 15 countries.

Company Overview

Equans Solar & Storage is the one‑stop partner for scaled, integrated and high‑performance solar and storage solutions. With over 6 GW of solar capacity installed worldwide, 550 MWh of BESS and approximately 2 GW of solar PV plants under construction, we are a key player in the energy transition.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end‑to‑end bidding process, from initial bid review to contract negotiation and closing.
  • Collaborate with business development, finance, legal and project management teams to ensure bids are complete, accurate and meet client needs.
  • Challenge internal inputs to optimize the customer solution.
  • Prepare and submit bids and proposals to prospective clients, ensuring alignment with client specifications.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services (e.g., transformers, cables, civil works, switchboards).
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of high‑quality materials and services.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations and finance to align procurement strategies with project objectives.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all bids submitted, including wins, losses and reasons for outcome, to continually improve results.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Bid Manager, with a proven record of winning bids in solar, substations or BESS.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of building relationships and negotiating with clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills; able to assess market trends, competitor activities and industry developments.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Salesforce.
  • Bilingual in German and English.
