Financial Modeling Expert (Hardware Manufacturing) — Budget and Valuation Model


About the work
We need a well-documented financial model for a hardware manufacturing fundraising for a UK startup.


What you will build
• Three financial statements: profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet, all driven by clear operating assumptions
• Manufacturing drivers: bill of materials and standard costing, production yield, production line capacity, direct and indirect labor, overhead allocation, purchase price variance, minimum order quantities, supplier lead times, freight, foreign exchange effects, and UK value added tax.
• Inventory: raw materials, work in process, and finished goods with safety stock, inventory turnover, and write-downs
• Capital expenditure and depreciation: tooling and non-recurring engineering, ramp-up schedule, and ongoing maintenance investment
• Valuation: discounted cash flow plus a simple template for comparable companies
• Capitalization table and financing rounds: pre-money and post-money valuation, employee options, and dilution
• Scenarios and sensitivities: price, volume, yield, material and labor rates, foreign exchange, and taxes
• Actual results compared with budget: monthly update sheet with easy spreadsheet import
• Documentation: an instructions tab, in-sheet comments, error checks and alerts, and a short screen-recorded walkthrough


Requirements
• At least five years building financial models
• MBA or accounting background in standard costing, inventory, foreign exchange, and value added tax
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Google Sheets not accepted), with clear written explanations and model documentation
• Willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement
• Ability to work interactively and communicating well with the project team


Deliverables
• The working model
• A user guide
• A recorded walkthrough (ten to fifteen minutes)
