C++ Engineer (f/m/x) in Munich
FILICS GmbH München
Stellenbeschreibung:

    OUR CHALLENGE

Our robots rely on a sophisticated software stack that must be robust, reliable, and ready to perform in real-world environments. Today, while our core autonomy systems are advancing rapidly, we face a critical challenge: ensuring that every change to our codebase can be tested, debugged, and monitored seamlessly — from development to production.
The mission ahead is to build the testing infrastructure, diagnostic tools, and performance monitoring systems that guarantee our robot stack always works as intended, without regressions. This includes creating tools used not only in development but also in live operations to monitor robot health. Solving this challenge means empowering the autonomy and operations teams to move faster, with confidence, and with fewer disruptions in the field.

    YOUR ROLE

As a C++ Engineer at Filics, you will be part of the Software Engineering Team, working closely with our Autonomy and Operations Teams — your direct “customers.” You will own the testing pipeline and the inspection tools that help us validate, monitor, and debug the entire robot stack.
Your work will sit at the crossroads of platform, algorithms, and operations, serving multiple teams with different requirements. By building reliable test infrastructure, data inspection tools, and performance diagnostics, you will play a pivotal role in enabling safe, efficient, and scalable autonomy.

    Your Responsibilities:
    • Design, implement, and maintain an end-to-end testing pipeline for the robot software stack with high coverage.
    • Develop diagnostic and inspection tools to analyze robot behavior starting from sensor data (e.g., images, LiDAR, IMUs).
    • Build performance monitoring systems for both development and production environments.
    • Collaborate closely with autonomy engineers to integrate testing and monitoring into their workflows.
    • Partner with operations teams to ensure field diagnostics are fast, accurate, and actionable.
    • Anticipate cross-team needs and adapt tools to different technical domains.
    How Success Looks Like:
    • We achieve a high level of automated test coverage across the system.
    • Debugging and diagnosing robot behavior is fast, reliable, and accessible to any engineer or operator.
    • Operational teams can proactively monitor robot health, reducing downtime and reactive firefighting.
    • The autonomy team can deliver new features faster, with confidence in stability and performance.
