The Opportunity

We are looking for a Category Insights Analyst to join our European business. This role will focus on analysing market dynamics, consumer trends, and category performance to inform commercial strategy and drive sustainable growth. Based in Europe (Germany/France), you will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate data into actionable insights and support decision-making across product, supply chain, and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, and consumer behaviour to identify high-potential categories and growth opportunities.
• Build and maintain category models, including pricing, promotions, lifecycle management, and SKU mix.
• Analyse sales and customer data to review, iterate, and optimise category strategies.
• Partner with supply chain teams to assess vendor capabilities, logistics efficiency, and cost structures.
• Collaborate with marketing to design category-specific campaigns (seasonal, cross-border events, etc.).
• Provide insights to product teams to improve product detail pages, search ranking, and customer experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, or related field; international study or work experience is a plus.
• 3+ years’ experience in e-commerce, retail, or consulting, with a focus on business analysis, category management, or merchandising.
• Proficiency with analytical tools (Excel, SQL, Python, R), visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau), and Google Analytics.
• Strong market insight with the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English; German or French language skills are an advantage.
