What You'll Do

  • Design and fabricate custom test equipment for electrical, thermal, mechanical, and hardware-in-the-loop testing, including mechanical and electrical design of instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to define requirements, track implementation, and perform structured design processes.
  • Deliver quick, resource-efficient designs, balancing speed and quality.
  • Perform simulations (FEM, structural stability, fluid flow, heat transfer) to optimize designs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and review norms and standards to ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
  • Document requirements and ensure CE and safety compliance.
  • Preferably possess knowledge of German laws/regulations (DIN, VDE, etc.) or have strong motivation to learn.
  • Acquire knowledge of relevant standards and norms related to equipment safety and lab processes.
  • Participate in testing to understand test rigs and product behavior, and assist in lab operations.
  • Train technicians and engineers to operate and troubleshoot test equipment.

Projects may involve working with hazardous materials using PPE and setting up tests in lab environments.

What You'll Bring

  • Master's degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field.
  • FEM simulation skills, preferably in ANSYS.
  • Strong CAD design skills and familiarity with manufacturing techniques.
  • For senior roles: ability to understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and create PIDs; familiarity with CE certification process.
  • Problem-solving skills, open-mindedness, flexibility, and attention to detail. Ability to make independent decisions.
