Civil Engineer (m/f/d) Building Services / Energy and Facility Systems

The Institute for Applied Construction Research (IAB) Weimar is one of Thuringia’s leading industry-oriented research institutes. For more than 30 years, we have been developing innovative equipment, methods, and materials for the construction industry in close cooperation with partners from industry and academia. With more than 120 employees, we focus on practical solutions that help shape the future of construction. To strengthen our Energy Department within the Technical Systems Research Division, we are looking for a Civil Engineer (m/f/d) specialized in Building Services / Energy Systems, starting as soon as possible.

Your Tasks

• Participation in exciting research and development projects in building services, energy supply, and sustainable building technology
• Planning, implementation, and optimization of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), and cooling systems, energy storage, and geothermal solutions
• Writing and publishing technical articles, reports, and project documentation
• Development of municipal climate protection and energy concepts
• Handling industrial projects and applied engineering tasks

Your Profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) with a focus on energy systems / building services
• Solid knowledge of building services engineering, energy supply systems, and sustainable building technology
• High initiative, reliability, and strong teamwork skills
• Excellent command of German (spoken and written)
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Driver’s license (Class B)
