Commissioning/Operations Engineer for Ultrapure Media (m/f/d)

Overview

Hobson Prior is seeking a Commissioning/Operations Engineer for Ultrapure Media to join a biotech project in Germany. This role focuses on supporting and coordinating commissioning activities for ultrapure water, steam, and gas systems. You will play a key part in ensuring compliance, optimizing processes, and maintaining operational readiness. This is a fully onsite position. Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support commissioning activities for new ultrapure water, steam, and clean steam systems.
• Provide technical support for ultrapure media systems, including water, steam, and gases.
• Identify and implement optimization measures from technical, economic, GMP, and EHS perspectives.
• Ensure compliance with GMP and EHS standards while maintaining operational readiness of equipment.
• Handle deviations, perform root-cause analyses, and manage CAPA measures and change control procedures.
• Assist in preparing for audits and inspections.
• Develop work instructions and conduct risk analyses.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Skills and Requirements

• Background in bio-chemical-pharmaceutical engineering, process engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
• Experience in commissioning or operating ultrapure media systems or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of ultrapure media systems and process automation.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical plant qualification and operational excellence is a plus.
• Understanding of legal regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Independent, hands-on approach with attention to detail and flexibility.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
