To our newly formed Great Lakes Claims Governance & Reporting (Claims G&R) team, responsible for governance and reporting of all Agency and Single Risks (SR) claims activities within the Claims1.5/GLISE area, we are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and detail-oriented Claims G&R Specialist.

Your role will be to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory standards, procedures, and policies. Your duties include documenting, tracking, and evaluating claims-related compliance activities, handling complaints, improving oversight and control frameworks, and liaising with government and regulatory bodies. Additionally, you will assist in drafting and evaluating reports on key claims developments in the MGA and SR domains.

Your Job

  1. Implement and ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of relevant governmental regulatory bodies in Europe (e.g., BaFin, IVASS, etc.)
  2. Ensure proper implementation, adherence, and execution of GL Third Party Risk Management processes within the claims area
  3. Coordinate due diligence and audits with the Agency Claims team and other GL units, identifying potential compliance risks
  4. Prepare outsourcing plans and risk assessment reports, following up on findings
  5. Negotiate, maintain, and monitor Service Level Agreements with internal and external outsourcing partners regarding claims services, compliance, and performance
  6. Develop and maintain knowledge of industry-specific compliance requirements
  7. Enhance Claims IT tools to support MGA/TPAs and agency claims management, in collaboration with the Agency Claims team
  8. Negotiate TPA Agreements and contribute claims input to Binding Authority Agreements, keeping them updated as needed
  9. Create work instructions and agency claims management guidelines to ensure state-of-the-art claims management and O&C in line with corporate guidelines
  10. Build monitoring systems to mitigate conduct and reputational risks and ensure appropriate financial outcomes for both Agency and SR business
  11. Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting as required

Your Profile

  • Claims compliance expertise in primary insurance, preferably within the EU, across multiple lines of business (Non-Life and Health)
  • Legal education or relevant university qualifications such as the ACII
  • Market experience in the EU, especially Germany, Italy, and France; knowledge of legal and regulatory systems. US and Australian market knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong internal and external network with legal professionals and service providers
  • Business-fluent English; additional European languages, especially German and French, are advantageous
