Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Management of the Civil, Structural, and Architectural packages under your control, reporting to the CSA Manager.
  • Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the Project Manager, CSA Manager, and Mercury Safety Advisor, including setup, management, and closure of the safety file as part of the Management team.
  • Management of QA in conjunction with Mercury QA Manager, including setup, management and close out of the file; ensure subcontractors follow Mercury QA/QC procedures and escalate on time. Review Supervisors checklists and maintain standard compliance. Promote Mercury engineering ethos regarding quality and safety, especially BER 2 Campus working procedures.
  • Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Mercury CSA Manager, Project Manager, Consulting Engineer and Client requirements; ensure subcontractors submit programs and meet/exceed baselines or escalate on time.
  • Weekly reporting of site events with commercial impact to CSA Manager to ensure costs are captured and claimed where applicable.
  • Assist with the management of all design deliverables related to the CSA package; review drawings, technical submissions, and mark-ups to highlight deficiencies and orientate subcontractors. Maintain the link between design information and construction drawings and address gaps before site start.
  • Assist with cost management for your package, including Mercury Civil Team, Sub-contractors, material deliveries, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations, including the Mercury CSA site supervision team; coordinate interfaces and attend site coordination meetings as representative.
  • Track subcontractor activities against schedule and staffing; conduct weekly minuted meetings covering EHS, design submissions, procurement, site coordination, quality control, progress/program, commercial, close out, and AOB.
  • Manage Mercury In Progress snagging system; ensure weekly punch lists are returned by supervisors and distributed to all subcontractors.
  • Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover meetings.
  • Close out all project items including Final Account, O&M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, material and plant relocations, and project plan with support from the site project manager and project team.
  • Issue weekly reports detailing orders placed, materials expected, and labour levels; report internal weekly progress to CSA Manager and Planner, highlighting progress, risks, late deliveries, and third-party delays.
  • Plan material deliveries to align with the project schedule and track critical deliveries procured by Mercury or subcontractors.
  • Ensure Mercury policies and procedures are followed closely.
  • Maintain a weekly project photographic diary and verify supervisor diaries and photo records.
  • Assist with the preparation of Sub-contract and Supplier Tender Packages in conjunction with Project QS.
  • Assist with the assessment of Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns for technical compliance with design intent specifications.

Essential Criteria For The Role

  • An engineering qualification or Construction Management qualification
  • 5-10 years relevant experience
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Proven track record of coordinating and managing large projects
