About The Role

Your Responsibilities
- Proven technologies – You will use Microsoft SQL Server & SSIS as a stable foundation for data-driven business decisions. 
 - Gradual modernization – You will support the transition from traditional ETL processes to modern solutions using Python, Docker/Kubernetes, and dbt. 
 - Data modeling & architecture – You will play an active role in the further development of our enterprise data warehouse. 
 - ETL process development & optimization – You will design robust data integration processes and optimize existing pipelines. This includes identifying bottlenecks and developing solutions to maximize efficiency. 
 - Independent project ownership – You will take ownership of individual projects, coordinate requirements directly with business departments, and implement solutions independently. 
 - Team collaboration – You will work closely with experienced Data Engineers. 
 - Customer proximity – You will communicate directly with business stakeholders to understand technical requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions. 
 - Paid on-call support – You will be part of our 24/7 support team on selected days each month, with attractive additional compensation. The number of support calls is low and compatible with a good work-life balance. 
 - 100% remote work & flexible hours – Work from anywhere in Germany with flexible scheduling

Skills And Experience
- Several years of experience – At least three years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. 
 - SQL expertise – Strong knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS. You are familiar with both the strengths and the limitations of these technologies. 
 - Data modeling & ETL – Solid experience in designing data models and implementing efficient data pipelines. 
 - Analytical thinking – Skilled in analyzing complex data structures and developing efficient processes. 
 - Problem-solving skills – A proactive approach to challenges and the ability to find practical solutions. 
 - Customer orientation – Ability to understand technical requirements from business departments, translate them, and develop data-driven solutions with real added value. 
 - Sense of responsibility – Willingness to take on new challenges, contribute actively, and take ownership of your solutions. 
 - Language skills – Fluent in German (C1) and good command of English. 
 - Bonus – Experience with Python, Docker/Kubernetes, dbt, Power BI, or PowerShell is a plus.
