What You Can Expect

We will soon be founding a separate company in our Agricultural Solutions division, which would then also employ our employees on a permanent basis. To bridge the gap, you will be employed by BASF SE on a temporary basis with the simultaneous binding promise of permanent employment in the new company.

Intellectual Property (IP) is crucial for Agricultural Solutions (AP) to secure its protected revenue and licensing business. For this purpose, we are seeking a Data Analyst.

In your new role, you manage the digital transformation within the IP unit, in particular IP Intelligence, and develop the strategy and procedure for its implementation (roadmap, competence requirements, operationalisation, etc.). Your tasks also include the exploration and development of know-how on AI methods (ML, LLM etc.) and their application to domain-specific cases in patent searches (document classification, entity extraction, auto summaries, talk-to-data). You implement and operationalise the AI methods and integrate them seamlessly into the IP analysts' workflow, including the development of web applications for integration into a user-friendly environment. In addition, you design and develop the portfolio of methods, services and products for effective data analysis and visualisation. Moreover, you implement and operationalise applications and methods for the presentation and visualisation of IP analyses for monitoring competitors as a self-service application (e.g. interactive dashboards). Lastly, you establish and conduct training courses and workshops on the creation of interactive dashboards and the use of AI methods for IP analysts.




What You Offer

• degree in natural sciences, engineering or data science along with relevant work experience, ideally within BASF
• profound knowledge in project management, basic knowledge in patent management as well as competent handling of patent databases
• expertise in AI engineering and software engineering, natural language processing and information retrieval methods as well as low-code development is an advantage
• ideally advanced Python skills and experience with Microsoft Power Platform
• outstanding communication and presentation skills in German and English to align the requirements of IP analytics and IT experts
