Job Overview

As a Database Analyst at Jabil, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-grade databases that support our global manufacturing and supply chain operations. You’ll ensure data integrity, performance, and availability across mission-critical systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business intelligence, analytics, and application development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Operations & Maintenance
    • Install, configure, and upgrade database software (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift)
    • Monitor database performance, availability, and resource utilization
    • Perform regular database tuning, indexing, and optimization
    • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies

  • Data Integrity & Security
    • Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls
    • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
    • Monitor for vulnerabilities and collaborate with cybersecurity teams

  • Development & Support
    • Support database design and schema development for new applications
    • Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and troubleshoot performance issues
    • Create and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and views

  • Monitoring & Automation
    • Set up alerts and event triggers for performance and integrity issues
    • Automate routine tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)
    • Maintain documentation for database architecture, configurations, and procedures

  • Collaboration & Leadership
    • Work closely with application teams, data engineers, and business analysts
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs or database developers
    • Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure scaling initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in SQL and database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redshift)
    • Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.)
    • Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
    • Knowledge of database monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Redgate, AWS CloudWatch)

  • Soft Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills
    • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration or database analyst
  • Certifications such as Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, or AWS Certified Database – Specialty are a plus
