Role Overview
As a Design Engineer / Drafter, you will play a key role in the engineering team, responsible for creating detailed plant designs, technical drawings, and layouts that bring innovative biogas projects to life. You will work closely with process and project engineers to translate concepts into practical, safe, and efficient designs for both new builds and plant upgrades.


Key Responsibilities
• Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical components, piping systems, plant layouts, and structural elements.
• Support the design and development of modular, scalable biogas and biomethane plant solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation including BOMs, fabrication drawings, and installation packages.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, and project engineers to ensure designs meet technical, operational, and safety requirements.
• Contribute to site planning: integrating digesters, pipelines, storage systems, and auxiliary units into efficient layouts.
• Provide engineering support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Work on continuous improvement of design processes and technical solutions to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness.


Skills & Qualifications
• Degree or vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Design (or equivalent).
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Experience with industrial plant design, piping, or energy-related infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of renewable energy, waste-to-energy, or process engineering is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex concepts into practical designs.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus.
