Kaywan — DevOps Cloud Engineer in Stuttgart

»If the DevOps pipeline doesn't fit, nothing works as it should. So we work along the entire Infinity Loop when building our set-up: from planning and building to testing and deploying through to monitoring. So that the developers can concentrate fully on their features.

Thanks to our role as a service provider, we have to deal with a wide variety of technologies, depending on the customer and the project. It can happen that I'm working with Azure Cloud today and AWS tomorrow. That brings a lot of variety to everyday life. We also work for our largest customer in Stuttgart on their own cloud.

How you work

As a team of up to eight experts in the areas of strategy, development, and design, you will share end-to-end responsibility for the software. You deploy ready-made software components in the cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, OpenShift, Google Cloud) and communicate directly with users from a wide range of industries.

1. create and optimize CI/CD pipelines for our applications and infrastructure.
2. design the cloud architecture, select the appropriate cloud services, and support their integration into the system.
3. monitor microservice applications across multiple environments and optimize observability.
4. collaborate closely with your colleagues in development, assisting them with the containerization of the application, adjusting CI/CD pipelines, and handling security findings.
5. actively participate in knowledge transfer through our training platform "aka", sharing your knowledge of concepts, architectures, or test strategies to guide colleagues and drive projects forward.

Skills

What you bring to the table

1. a structured and independent working style
2. understanding of CI/CD concepts and typical solution approaches
3. good knowledge in at least one CI/CD platform (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab)
4. sound knowledge in Docker and Kubernetes
5. knowledge in at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with typical cloud components (virtual networks, compute, managed databases, object storage)
6. practical experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools to provision automated virtual cloud infrastructure (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
7. familiarity with observability/monitoring concepts (Observability Pillars, SLIs, SLOs, Run-Books)
8. hands-on experience with Observability platforms (e.g., Azure Monitor, Prometheus/Grafana Stack, Splunk)
9. good knowledge of German and English
10. nice to have: knowledge of patterns for software stability, understanding of fundamental concepts for software security
