Role: Systems Architecture, DevOps & Infrastructure Oversight (Contractor)
Location: Remote – Must work UK hours (11 AM to 8 PM BST, Monday–Friday)

About the Opportunity
Our client isn’t just another tech company—they’re on a mission to train and inspire the next generation of elite footballers, using technology to drive skill development and performance. As they expand, they’re looking for a senior-level bilingual (Spanish-speaking) infrastructure and DevOps contractor to lead the systems backbone that supports their fast-growing digital platforms.

Your Mission
As the technical lead for infrastructure and operations, you’ll oversee and implement the systems, architecture, and DevOps practices that power the platform—from build pipelines to live environments. You’ll work closely with developers and leadership to ensure everything is scalable, secure, and ready for game day.


Key Responsibilities
• CI/CD Pipelines: Design and manage continuous integration/deployment pipelines
• AWS Infrastructure: Oversee and optimize cloud systems for scale, cost, and performance
• Monitoring & Uptime: Enhance observability with tools like UptimeRobot, Sentry, and SonarQube
• Infrastructure as Code: Use Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools for reproducibility
• Secrets & Access Control: Implement secure secrets handling and role-based access
• Systems Architecture: Define long-term hosting, service structure, and data flow strategies
• Legacy Refactoring: Review and improve aging systems for future readiness
• Incident Response: Own the resolution of outages and system issues
• Containerization: Lead Docker-based environment setups and dev/test environment replication
• Code Contribution: Pitch in on backend (and occasional frontend) work as needed
• Documentation: Build and maintain internal systems docs and DR protocols
• Team Collaboration: Mentor, support, and align teams across tech operations


What You Bring
• 7+ years across DevOps, cloud, and backend/full-stack development
• 2+ years in a lead or architectural role with infrastructure oversight
• Fluent in English and Spanish
• Hands-on expertise with AWS, CI/CD, IaC, monitoring tools, and secrets management
• Strong grasp of cloud security, networking, and scalable design
• Experience modernizing legacy systems and leading architecture decisions
• A collaborative, team-focused mindset
