Director (m/w/d) R&D Data Applications at Rohde & Schwarz

We are looking for a leader to build and mentor a team focused on data applications within the CMX platform, driving high-quality full-stack IP applications and data verification/testing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and empower a team of 10-15 software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Drive the design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable full-stack IP applications integral to the CMX platform, ensuring the highest quality.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight for the development of data applications on the CMX platform (e.g., Tput & IP Measurement, eCall Applications, and audio/video testing for VoLTE/VoNR).
• Take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle from concept and planning to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of high-impact solutions.
• Establish strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, breaking down silos and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve shared goals.
• Guide the team through evolving technologies and industry best practices, keeping them at the forefront of data application verification and testing.
• Lead the team through organizational changes and maintain a flexible and effective team structure.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.
• Proven software development experience with a strong focus on the telecommunications industry and a solid understanding of networking protocols and IP technologies.
• Experience across the entire software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Experience leading and managing a software engineering team with strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve high performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Fluency in English is essential; German is a plus.
