We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team in the Lancashire Region.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective maintenance and fault finding following unplanned equipment failures
  • Maintain and optimise EC&I equipment to maximise reliability and uptime
  • Support commissioning and handover of new energy assets with project and vendor teams
  • Conduct installation, surveying, and repair work where required
  • Accurately record data and report through company systems
  • Provide on‑call and emergency response cover
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and personal accountability in HSEQ standards

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ discipline engineering experience in electrical, control or instrumentation fields
  • Recognised NVQ Level 3, C&G or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Apprenticeship trained (EITB, NVQ, etc.)
  • Experience with electrical LV systems, control panels, VSDs, instrumentation and calibration
  • Excellent knowledge of safe systems of work (e.g., permits to work, RAMS)
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills

Desirable (or willing to train)

  • Experience with generator control systems, telemetry and telecoms
  • BS7671 and inspection/testing qualifications
  • HV systems awareness
  • Battery storage and/or gas engine generation experience
  • CompEx practitioner status

Additional Information

  • Location: Lancashire Region
  • Competitive salary to be discussed at interview.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 am‑5 pm with on‑call and overtime requirements.
  • Field, company van provided
