Electrical Engineer

Job Overview
G2’s client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the development, operation, and maintenance of onshore high-voltage (132 kV+) cable systems, including assets linked to HVDC corridors and Germany’s grid expansion.

Responsibilities
You’ll lead technical strategy and maintenance planning, analyze system performance, and support the delivery of HVDC/AC grid projects. The role involves supplier coordination, managing warranties and procurement processes, maintaining technical documentation, and providing support during critical events.

🚨 This is a freelance contract – NOT PERMANENT!

Key Details:

• 🔌 Freelance Electrical Engineer – HV Onshore Cable Systems
• 📍 Location: Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany
• 💶 Rate: €90–€130/hour (DOE) | Hours: ~35/week
• 🗓️ Start: ASAP

Ideal Profile:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Energy Technology
• 3+ years with HV cable systems (132 kV+)
• Familiar with German grid code, DIN/VDE, and HVDC environments
• Strong supplier coordination & project support experience
• German (B2+) and working English
• Driving license + willingness to travel for site work
