Overview

Shive-Hattery's Bettendorf office has an opening for an Electrical Engineer with 3 to 8 years of experience. This is a full-time position for a motivated individual who already is licensed or plans on acquiring a professional engineering license.

Responsibilities

Electrical design for building systems including power distribution, LED and custom lighting design, Life Safety Systems, and data/communications
Collaborate with other team members and maintain good interpersonal communications
Work under the direction of a senior engineer toward design and document production using 3D Revit modeling software
Visit project construction sites to assist with measuring, data collection, and construction observation duties
Manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical engineering emphasis
Experience in 3D modeling; Revit preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Experience in electrical design for building systems (power distribution, lighting, Life Safety, data/communications)
Willingness to work in diverse markets (Industrial, Institutional, Commercial, Education, Government, Healthcare)
Experience with design of lighting, power, and low-voltage systems is desired
Graduated from an accredited engineering program in Electrical Engineering
Experience in Revit is preferred; a desire to learn Autodesk Revit is required
Have taken and passed, or plan to take, the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
