Electronics Validation Engineer, LV Controllers Design and Test (m/w/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg

Tesla Electronics Test and Automation Group (ETAG) is the main point of contact to ensure the highest quality vehicle, silicon and robotics electronics for our customers. Our mission is to develop test automation equipment, architect software automation framework, and provide hardware/software/data infrastructure for Tesla electronics communities worldwide. This role is focused on validating, identifying, analyzing, root causing, implementing countermeasures, and reporting issues affecting all low voltage PCBsAs from the Berlin factory and EMEA markets, including body controllers and car computers. The candidate will work with test/design engineers to mitigate issues and implement countermeasures at suppliers and factories to improve quality, reliability, and durability of products.

What You'll Do

• Work with quality engineers, supplier engineers, and suppliers to monitor product performance and identify trending issues. Prioritize based on severity, occurrence, and/or cost of each failure mode.
• Perform detailed failure analysis and root-cause identification; conduct board-level debugging and collaborate with suppliers on IC-level debugging to isolate faults for physical failure analysis.
• Apply knowledge of electrical engineering and PCBA manufacturing to drive containment and corrective actions into production, design, supplier, or firmware processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and implement preventive actions.
• Share lessons learned from field issues and provide upfront feedback by participating in design reviews to ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability, and mitigate risks (DFMEAs).
• Contribute to ongoing optimization of products and processes (performance, cost, technology).

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Power Electronics, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar fields; MS degree is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in Failure Analysis / Quality / Service in consumer electronics or automotive industry is preferred.
• Broad technical background with the ability to work with engineering, manufacturing, service, and suppliers across diverse issues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Exceptional problem solving and Failure Analysis skills; strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Proficient English communication skills (oral and written).
• Proficient in PCBA-level troubleshooting and debugging; experience with embedded systems (ARM microcontroller or FPGA) is a plus.
• Knowledge of applying statistical methods and tools to manage, synthesize, and interpret data.
• Programming experience with Python, Minitab, JMP, or similar tools is a strong plus.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment is a plus.
