Stellenbeschreibung:

We are seeking a skilled German editor to review and refine the German translation of a non-fiction book focused on continuous improvement, specifically 5S.


The manuscript has already been translated via google translation, but it requires professional editing to ensure accuracy, clarity, fluency and consistency with technical terminology.


An English version will be provided to ensure a smooth translation.


This author has multiple books in need of German translation. If you are a good fit and this project goes well, ongoing work will be available.


This author prefers Google Docs for edits and communication on manuscripts.


Responsibilities:
• Review and edit the German manuscript for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style
• Ensure technical accuracy, particularly in the area of continuous improvement terminology
• Improve readability while maintaining the author’s intent and professional tone
• Provide light rewriting where necessary to ensure natural flow in German
• Verify that terminology is consistent throughout the text


Requirements:
• Native-level fluency in German (written and spoken)
• Proven experience editing or translating non-fiction and technical content (preferably in continuous improvement, engineering, manufacturing, or related fields)
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to preserve author’s voice and intent
• Familiarity with industry-specific vocabulary in continuous improvement is highly preferred. This book focuses on 5S principles.
• Ability to deliver polished, publication-ready edits within agreed deadlines
