About tonies : tonies is the world’s largest interactive audio platform for children with around 9.3 million Tonieboxes and 119 million Tonies sold. The intuitive and award-winning audio system has changed the way young children play and learn independently with its child-safe, wireless, and screen-free approach. Founded in 2013 by two fathers in Germany, tonies is expanding internationally. Tonieboxes are available in over 28 countries on 4 continents and more to come. Tonieboxes have already been activated in over 100 countries.

What you will do : At tonies, storytelling is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for an Expert People Development to drive global people development initiatives that support growth, strengthen leadership, and shape the future of work at tonies. You will report to the CHRO and will design and implement frameworks, strategies, and programs that enable employees and leaders to thrive. You will be a key architect of our global people growth framework, leadership development, and succession planning – ensuring we are building the right capabilities today for the success of tomorrow.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of strategy, transformation, and people growth, with a hands-on, pragmatic approach to make a lasting impact on the organization.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing a global people development strategy: shape and drive a global strategy that empowers employee growth, builds critical skills, and strengthens organizational capabilities. Design and deliver trainings yourself, coordinate external development initiatives, and maintain tools that align with business priorities and inspire continuous learning.
  • Driving holistic leadership development: create, implement, and coordinate leadership development initiatives for different leadership levels to build a strong, future-ready leadership bench.
  • People growth framework development: own and advance the global People Growth Framework, align with job levels and evolving needs, and embed it across the organization as a practical tool for employees, managers, and leaders.
  • Fostering a culture of feedback: enhance global processes around performance feedback and introduce tools and interventions that promote openness and constructive dialogue.
  • Talent & succession management: lead global processes for talent and succession, maintaining an engaged and diverse leadership pipeline.
  • Measuring learning & development success: establish and track metrics to evaluate effectiveness and business impact, using insights to refine approaches.
  • Collaborating with People Partners: act as a connector between People Development and People Partnering globally to ensure initiatives meet business needs.

What we are looking for

  • Multiple years of experience in people development in global, fast-paced environments: at least 7 years in learning & development, with experience in international, high-growth settings.
  • Big-picture, systemic thinker: design programs aligned with business priorities and long-term needs.
  • Hands-on program delivery: actively design, facilitate, and coordinate learning initiatives.
  • Data-driven and impact-oriented: use metrics and feedback to drive actionable improvements.
  • Stakeholder collaboration and influence: collaborate across levels with empathy, clarity, and business focus.
  • Language and communication: fluent in English; German is a plus. Adapt communication to diverse audiences.
  • Flexibility for global collaboration: comfortable with occasional cross-time-zone meetings.
