Job Overview

A leading organisation in the life sciences sector is seeking a dynamic and skilled NGS Applications Specialist to support the growth and adoption of its Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) solutions across the EU. The Applications Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting customers with technical consultations, training, and troubleshooting while contributing to business development efforts by identifying opportunities and assisting in sales engagements. Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders will be key to ensuring customer success and driving growth in the EU market.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Applications Support

• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers using NGS solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and workshops to showcase NGS capabilities and best practices.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, analyze data, and provide solutions to optimize customer workflows.

Commercial Collaboration & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and support sales efforts.
• Assist in the development of sales strategies, marketing materials, and promotional activities.
• Provide technical expertise during sales presentations, product demonstrations, and customer meetings.

Customer Success

• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, building strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Gather customer feedback and provide insights to internal teams to improve product development and customer service.
• Monitor customer usage and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products and services.

Collaboration & Teamwork

• Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, product management, and marketing, to align on product strategy and customer needs.
• Share best practices, technical knowledge, and customer insights with colleagues to foster a collaborative environment.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to improve processes, enhance product offerings, and drive business growth.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, technical issues, and solutions in a CRM system.
• Prepare reports on customer feedback, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform business decisions.
• Document best practices, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation to support customer training and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

Education:

A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or related fields.

Experience:

4+ years in an NGS-focused role, such as technical support, applications, or sales engineering. Experience with customer engagement and business development in the life sciences or diagnostics industry.

Languages:

Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a bonus.

Travel Flexibility:

Willingness to travel across EU for customer meetings, training, and conferences.
