Join a company at the forefront of the quantum revolution ! This company is building next-generation quantum computers and need a highly-driven FGPA Engineer to take ownership of critical system modules.

You’ll join our electrical engineering group to develop the state-of-the‑art FPGA platforms that serve as the real‑time core of quantum machines. This is an opportunity to design, implement, and optimize the high‑speed control and data acquisition systems that enable the precise, nanosecond‑level manipulation of individual atoms. Your work will directly impact the quantum architecture’s performance and scalability.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Logic Design & Implementation: Design and implement high-performance SystemVerilog/Verilog modules for quantum control, including distributed signal processing, data acquisition, and signal generation using high‑speed ADCs and DACs .
  • High-Speed Interfacing: Integrate specialised high‑speed vision interfaces (e.g., CameraLink, CoaXPress, DisplayPort, or HDMI ) for monitoring and managing the quantum environment.
  • System Synchronisation: Design robust clocking and trigger architectures to ensure flawless, synchronised operation across complex, multi‑board systems.
  • Embedded Co‑Design: Develop memory‑mapped firmware and work on the hardware/software co‑design, optimising the PS–PL interface on SoCs (ARM, RISC‑V).
  • Verification: Create comprehensive testbenches and robust simulation frameworks using SystemVerilog/Verilog and/or Python (cocotb) to ensure design reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with experimental physicists and cross‑disciplinary engineers to translate complex physics requirements into precise, working digital solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of professional FPGA development experience (or 1+ year with a relevant Master’s degree).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in synthesizable SystemVerilog (preferred), Verilog, or VHDL, including functional verification.
  • Proven ability to achieve timing closure and perform static timing analysis across high‑speed clock domains.
  • Deep practical understanding of ARM AXI4, AXI‑Stream, and AXI‑Lite bus protocols.
  • Prior experience in signal processing, image processing, or control systems engineering.
  • Experience developing firmware for embedded architectures (ARM, RISC‑V, or PC400 ) in an SoC environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary environment.
