Financial Controller

We are representing a global FMCG business seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance hub in Düsseldorf, Germany. This is a senior role offering a competitive salary between €90,000-€100,000 per annum, an excellent bonus structure up to 35%, hybrid working, and a comprehensive benefits package.

As Financial Controller, you will lead and develop a team of 3, plus oversee an offshore shared-service team, taking responsibility for entities across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Nordic countries. You will manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, while partnering with Commercial and Supply Chain Finance teams to provide insights that drive business growth.

You will also analyse and report on P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, develop strategies to achieve regional goals, manage key accounting processes (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report), and ensure compliance with regulations, internal controls, audits, and tax requirements. Additionally, you will champion process improvements to simplify and streamline financial operations.

We are looking for candidates with:

Qualifications

• Sufficient experience as a Financial Controller, ideally with a Big 4 background and/or FMCG exposure.
• Professional accounting qualification with strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, tax principles, and internal controls.
• Proven experience with ERP and BI systems.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior leaders.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Key competencies include being analytical and data-driven, commercially minded, results-oriented, pragmatic, and an excellent communicator and collaborator.
