Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Senior PMT Engineer to support Air Power Engineering in Flight Physics. The role focuses on designing and characterizing military aircraft programs throughout their product life cycle using numerical simulations, testing, and data science.

Location

Manching, Germany – about an hour’s drive north of Munich.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Support and perform technologies, processes, methods, and tool developments within Flight Physics in close collaboration with technical domains.
• Implement machine-learning and artificial-intelligence solutions based on iterative model development: model and algorithm selection, model training, model validation, and model optimization.
• Develop integrated solutions to support end-to-end process digitalisation for overall aircraft design.
• Provide technical support across the full life-cycle of established processes, methods, and tools from proof-of-concept to industrialised integration.
• Document and provide evidence for process, method, and tool development and transfer knowledge to essential stakeholders.
• Develop, prove, validate, and deploy disruptive ways of solving problems in flight physics with a holistic approach; challenge the status quo.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• University degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in programming and data science in development and engineering areas.
• Applied skills in Python and C++ and state-of-the-art data-science frameworks.
• Excellent knowledge of continuous integration and tool development, with a clear focus on business problems and an entrepreneurial, pragmatic mindset.
• Experience with continuous integration and validation environments (CI/CE) and Git.
• Previous experience in machine-learning modelling for engineering applications is a plus.
• Previous experience with front-end and database development is a plus.
• Previous experience on CFD and FEM is a plus.
• Previous experience on high-performance computing and Linux server administration is a plus.
• Strong desire to work, learn, and grow as part of a digitalisation and technology team.
