Founding Engineer (Full-Stack)

Roket is building Europe’s first Autonomous Finance Platform, a new operating system for the Office of the CFO. We’re replacing chaotic monthly closes, patchwork spreadsheets, and outdated tools with intelligent automation that empowers finance teams to move faster and make smarter decisions. We’re developing our MVP, actively working with design partners, and currently in fundraising mode. This is the ground floor. We're looking for an additional resourceful, entrepreneurial engineer who thrives in ambiguity, loves solving problems, and wants to help build something from scratch.


What You’ll Do
• Build and ship product features across the stack (backend, frontend, and data)
• Design architecture from scratch, with scalability and maintainability in mind
• Work directly with the founders and early customers to solve real-world pain points
• Shape our tech stack, product decisions, and engineering culture
• Iterate rapidly: this is a zero-to-one build in an early-stage startup
• Integrate AI/ML (agentic) approaches into core product workflows (e.g. pattern recognition, anomaly detection, forecasting, automation)


What We're Looking For
• 2–5 years of hands-on engineering experience (full-stack experience only)
• Strong builder who has worked in early-stage, fast-paced environments
• Entrepreneurial mindset: you find scrappy solutions and don’t wait for permission
• Skilled in modern frameworks and tools (e.g., TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, Postgres)
• Comfortable in Munich or willing to relocate — we’re hybrid, with in-person collaboration
• Are familiar with AI/ML concepts and how to apply them in real-world systems
• Preferred: prior experience in finance, accounting, or controlling — or have built products for these users
