The Faculty of Medicine at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) invites applications for a
at the Institute of Neuroradiology at Uniklinikum Erlangen. This is a full-time and permanent position to be filled by the earliest possible starting date. In addition, the professorship is linked to a clinical position as senior physician and active member of the management team at the Institute of Neuroradiology at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen.
We seek to appoint an internationally recognized researcher in the fields of interventional neuroradiology and neurovascular imaging with a scientific and clinical focus. Close collaboration with neighboring clinical disciplines, i.e., neurosurgery, neurology, and radiology, and other departments and institutes of Uniklinikum Erlangen is expected.
Furthermore, candidates will be expected to participate in scientific collaborations with the research associations, collaborative research centers, and research training groups at the Faculty of Medicine, FAU, and the other clinical departments of Uniklinikum Erlangen.
Teaching obligations are based on the obligations for teaching at Bavarian universities (Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung für die Bayerischen Universitäten (LUFV)). The Faculty of Medicine offers degree programs in Medicine, Dentistry, Molecular Medicine (B.Sc. and M.Sc.), and Medical Process Management, and Medical Engineering and Integrated Immunology in conjunction with other faculties. The professor is expected to participate in teaching in these degree programs.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding track record in research and teaching. They are required to have a university degree and a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and additional postdoctoral qualifications (either a habilitation or equivalent academic qualifications). These qualifications may also have been achieved in a non-university context or through a junior faculty position (for example as assistant professor). Candidates must provide evidence of a license to practice medicine in the field of radiology (ideally with a focus on neuroradiology).
The successful candidate is expected to carry out administrative duties and take a proactive approach to raising third-party funding. FAU pursues a policy of intense student mentoring and expects its teaching staff to be present during lecture periods.
