Job Requirements

  • A degree in Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end ground station systems for spacecraft operations, including spacecraft routine phase and direct involvement in LEOP activities.
  • Knowledge of TT&C systems, ground networks, and mission control infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with ground segment monitoring, telemetry handling, mission readiness testing and validation campaigns.
  • Understanding of cooperative station integration, cross-support agreements.
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Ground Station(s) based on specific missions and implement the necessary modifications to the operational system, in line with the technical evolution of the Ground Station(s).
  • Assess, monitor and follow up all configuration change requests for the Ground Station(s) and verify correctness of the implemented changes to ensure continuity of routine operations and compatibility with the requirements.
  • Support the coordination and execution of Ground Station(s) upgrades in cooperation with the relevant engineering teams.
  • Coordinate and implement the tailoring of the Monitoring and Control (M&C) system in coordination with the relevant service teams, including the specification of the requirements and the implementation, deployment, and validation of all M&C configuration updates.
  • Assist in identifying and analyzing ground station requirements for the missions and specify the operational approach and scenarios.
  • Coordinate and execute the operational validation activities, including the validation of new M&C configurations and database versions.
  • Support the local maintenance and operations teams for the execution of any validation activities at the station.
  • Provide technical support for real-time ground operations during LEOP, commissioning and routine phases, including working in shifts and extended hours, and provision of on-call support.
  • Support the critical operations services for launcher tracking.
  • Monitor and oversee the execution of regular preventive Ground Station(s) maintenance activities.
  • Analyze anomalies and execute relevant corrective Ground Station(s) maintenance activities.
  • Generate, maintain and update relevant Ground Station documentation.
  • Participate in, supervise and provide training sessions for other team members.
  • Work closely with the Station Manager and local maintenance and operations teams.
