Overview

As Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing group sales leads for hotels in region east (excluding social events) with a dedicated focus on Meliá Berlin and INNSiDE Berlin. You will lead the Group Cluster team (where applicable) and/or the internal sales team, ensuring optimal conversion of group business. Your mission is to drive revenue growth in the MICE segment—rooms, banqueting, F&B, and related services—by delivering strategic sales actions and maintaining high standards of customer experience and operational excellence.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Group Sales and Area Director of Sales in developing and executing the MICE segment strategy.
  • Ensure achievement of budgeted targets for rooms, banqueting, and F&B revenues.
  • Oversee quotations for group leads (+10 rooms), ensuring optimal revenue generation.
  • Supervise the use of relevant tools for accurate group data and contracting.
  • Lead and support Group Sales Coordinators and Executives in both cluster and decentralized hotel teams.
  • Ensure smooth handover of confirmed groups to hotel operations and maintain strong communication.
  • Prepare weekly projections and standard reports on group demand and production.
  • Analyze conversion rates and define actions to improve business acquisition.
  • Promote and attend site inspections to increase conversion rates.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Ensure negotiations and contracts align with MHI policies.
  • Collaborate with Head of Group Sales, Director of Sales and Revenue Management to define optimal pricing and sales conditions.
  • Representing the Head of Group Sales in case of absence.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar role, ideally with MICE and B2B experience.
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English; a third language is a plus.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Hands-on, results-oriented approach with analytical thinking.
  • Customer service excellence and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce applications, Opera Cloud, Microsoft Office.
