Hangar Manager (m/w/d) at Ryanair - Europe’s Favourite Airline
Based at Berlin Brandenburg Airport BER. Ryanair Engineering Germany GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Ryanair, founded in 2018. The Irish airline group currently operates a fleet of 590 modern Boeing 737NG, 737 MAX 10, Game Changer, and Airbus A320 aircraft. The group plans to expand by more than 300 aircraft by 2030.
Ryanair Engineering Germany employs engineers and mechanics responsible for the maintenance of all Ryanair aircraft across multiple stations in Germany. We are currently looking for a Hangar Manager for our station.
Role
- Supervision and oversight of the Hangar staff and facility
- Ensure health and safety regulations are complied with in full
- Maintain serviceability and appearance of equipment, facilities and premises to a high standard
- Ensure all performed tasks have complete documentation and meet company and legislative requirements per procedures (e.g., CAME, MOE, Line & Base handbook, materials handbook, company policies)
- Immediate and close communication of aircraft status
- Supervision, direction and management of resources to achieve efficient and cost-effective maintenance during the assigned shift; provide team leadership
- Perform further individual tasks or special assignments as directed by the Station Manager or Head of Technical Operations
The Hangar Manager Role Includes
- Control of the aircraft spares shortage list and authorization of orders for high-cost spare parts
- Participate in aircraft maintenance duties or certify and support staff activities within the scope of approval as required
- Audit of Hangar and Facilities in accordance with Company Procedures
- Allocate engineering staff to cover maintenance services activities in out-of-hours circumstances for contracted customers
- Assist with planning scheduled maintenance
- Promote SMS principles in the hangar
- Arrange and manage aircraft Pre-Check input meetings to ensure adequate resources to meet customer requirements; keep Base Maintenance Manager informed of shortfalls
- Ensure all documentation is completed before the work day/shift ends and provide a detailed handover of any in-progress work
- Respond to quality deficiencies arising from independent audits
- Ensure quality of workmanship meets the organisation and EASA standards
- Provide support to Check Supervisors to maintain high standards of control and workmanship
Requirements
- Must hold an EASA PART 66 CAT B1 and C License with Boeing B737NG eligibility (preferably B737NG and B737MAX / Airbus A320)
- At least six months of work experience on the type within the last two years
- Excellent communication skills – fluent English is essential
- Good computer literacy
- Willing to work shifts
- Valid EU/EEA passport with unrestricted right to live and work in the EU and a valid EU driver’s license
- Preferably a valid German security clearance according to §7 German Aviation Security Act
