Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in bringing our next-generation products to life, from initial concept through to production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, applying your expertise in circuit design, PCB layout, and 3D modeling to create robust and innovative hardware solutions for demanding applications, particularly within the automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• New Product Introduction (NPI): Actively participate as a core member of project teams for the introduction of new products, contributing significantly to the hardware design and development lifecycle.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work synergistically with firmware, application software, and system engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of hardware components within the broader system architecture.
• Hardware Design & Adaptation: Develop and precisely adjust hardware solutions for diverse new applications, often involving complex sensor technologies and data processing.
• Circuit Design & Layout Expertise: Independently design intricate electronic circuits and sophisticated PCB layouts (using tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad, etc.) to meet stringent requirements from our characterization, sensor fusion, and application teams, ensuring optimal signal integrity, power management, and manufacturability.
• 3D CAD Modeling: Create detailed 3D models of hardware components and assemblies for various purposes, including internal setups, customer demonstrators, and early sample prototypes, facilitating mechanical integration and design visualization.
• Project-Specific Hardware Solutions: Drive the development and implementation of bespoke hardware solutions, including rapid prototyping of demo kits, internal test setups, compelling customer demonstrators, and functional early samples to accelerate development cycles.
• External Partner Interface: Serve as a key technical interface to external development partners, ensuring clear communication, effective collaboration, and successful integration of outsourced hardware components or designs.
• Hardware Release & Validation: Implement and rigorously execute comprehensive test plans for hardware release, ensuring all components meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.
• Production Support: Provide essential technical support for End-of-Line (EOL) setups during component and module build phases, ensuring smooth production ramp-up and quality control.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline.
Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on experience in hardware electronics development, with a proven track record of successful project contributions.
Hands-on Mentality: A true "maker" mentality with a passion for building, testing, and troubleshooting electronic systems.
Circuit Design & PCB Layout: Very strong practical experience in electronic circuit design and multi-layer PCB layout using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad, etc.).
3D CAD Modeling: Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Fusion 360, Solidworks), with the ability to design mechanical enclosures and integrate electronic components.
Automotive Experience: Demonstrable experience in automotive hardware development, understanding the specific challenges and requirements of this industry.
Communication Interfaces: Solid knowledge of common communication interfaces such as LIN, I2C, SPI, CAN, and Serial communication.
Automotive SPICE (Advantageous): Familiarity with the Automotive SPICE process is a significant advantage.
Functional Safety/ASIL (Plus): Knowledge of functional safety principles and/or Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL) is a strong plus.
Software/Firmware Knowledge (Advantageous): Basic understanding or experience with software and firmware development is an advantage, facilitating better collaboration with relevant teams.

Language Skills:

English: Effective written and oral communication skills in English are essential for international team collaboration and documentation.
German: Knowledge of the German language is preferred for seamless communication with local external partners and a smooth integration into the team.
