Head of Engineering - Advanced Manufacturing / Production

We are currently partnered with a rapidly scaling innovator in the sustainable consumer goods sector, with products already distributed nationwide. As part of a planned expansion into a new state-of-the-art facility, the team are looking to bring on an experienced Head of Engineering specializing in the establishment of manufacturing processes within high regulation/hygiene environments.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Berlin.

Key Responsibilities

• Facility Development: Lead the design and delivery of a new manufacturing site, from equipment specification and vendor management to site buildout and automation rollout.
• Engineering Leadership: Oversee projects across mechanical, electrical, and automation disciplines, ensuring solutions are innovative, scalable, and aligned with long-term strategy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, operations, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure smooth integration of new systems.
• Team Management: Guide and expand an engineering team, encouraging technical excellence and fostering a culture of problem-solving and innovation.
• Resource & Risk Control: Manage budgets, procurement, and headcount planning while mitigating technical and operational risks through robust controls.

Key Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in automated manufacturing or advanced production environments, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams.
• Strong grounding in mechanical/electrical/automation systems, ideally within high-volume production environments.
• Familiarity with CAD tools, automation software, and compliance standards relevant to modern manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale engineering projects in fast-paced, complex environments.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English.
