Head of IT – Berlin (Hybrid)

We are partnering with a global client to appoint a Head of IT on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated IT leader to shape and deliver the company’s technology strategy while driving operational excellence across infrastructure, applications, and cloud services.

The Opportunity

As Head of IT, you will lead a sizeable IT team, providing strategic direction while remaining hands-on when needed. You will ensure that IT services deliver measurable value to the business, support future growth, and meet regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders to align IT with business goals, while leading transformation initiatives across infrastructure, enterprise applications, and service management.

Head of IT Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and develop a large IT team covering infrastructure, applications, development, and service delivery.
Oversee and optimise infrastructure, applications, and Azure environments.
Run enterprise applications, ensuring availability, security, and scalability.
Lead IT service management, change management, and budget control.
Drive standardisation and best practices across IT operations.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and governance standards.
Act as a trusted partner to the business, aligning IT strategy with company objectives.

Head of IT Key Requirements

Proven track record in a senior IT leadership role (Head of IT, IT Director, or equivalent).
Strong background in managing and motivating large IT teams.
Excellent understanding of infrastructure, enterprise applications, and Azure cloud.
Experience in regulated environments (life sciences, healthcare, or similar).
Expertise in IT service management, change management, and budget ownership.
Hands-on leadership style with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Fluent in both English and German at business level (essential).
