Overview


Head of Merchant Operations (f/m/d) role at Global Payments Inc. This role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the CEO. The Head of Merchant Operations leads diverse business operations and drives growth for the organization, including responsibilities across the Commerz GlobalPay JV and the Global Payments Central European, European and Global merchant operations. Candidates should have strong leadership, people skills, business acumen and a proven track record of delivering results.


Location: Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany.


What Part Will You Play



  • Reporting to the CEO and serving as an integral member of the executive management team.

  • Responsible for the development and smooth operation of Merchant Operations.

  • Direct management of the GP Thor JV aspects including Merchant Operations, Complaint Management, Customer Onboarding, Partner & Customer Integrations.

  • Define key KPIs with the business for reporting, monitoring and control.

  • Manage the assigned budget and keep it on target.

  • Set and drive a compelling annual and multi-year operations strategy to keep the business relevant and competitive.

  • Develop and drive coherent operations strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Help co-create the JV culture and align it with GP and CoBa cultures.

  • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.

  • Fulfill company goals in own area of responsibility with drive, results orientation and the ability to motivate the team.

  • Develop team knowledge and expertise to maximize performance and contribution to business results.

  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.

  • Oversee operations risk and issues for the business.

  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures.

  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth; establish performance standards and analyze data and metrics.

  • Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives.

  • Write and submit reports to the CEO on matters of importance.

  • Participate in expansion activities, including the implementation of new products and partners.

  • Lead operations activities required to transition the organization to the target operating model and migrate off the legacy platform.


Who We Are Looking For



  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or a relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus.

  • Strong business and sales leadership background in a multinational multi-channel company.

  • Experience working in different countries and ability to speak multiple languages.

  • Strong commercial focus.

  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or in a relevant role.

  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, and Marketing.

  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics.

  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office.

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
