Head of Military Programs (m/w/d)

Overview

Head of Military Programs (m/w/d) role at Diehl Aviation . You will have overall responsibility (contract, business case, sales and budget) for all military programs of Diehl Aerospace and assume the technical and disciplinary leadership of the assigned program managers. You will manage and coordinate all programs, considering profitability and the company strategy. You will implement the strategy, develop the business case, and act as the primary interface to authorities for the assigned programs, while further developing market share and positioning with stakeholders. You will guide offers for new customers and new programs and prepare offers in the event of changes to contract content. You identify and evaluate program risks (time, cost, quality) and initiate necessary countermeasures.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility (contract, business case, sales and budget) for all military programs of Diehl Aerospace and technical and disciplinary leadership of the assigned program managers
• Manage and coordinate all assigned programs, considering the company's profitability and business strategy
• Implement the strategy, the business case, and the overall customer interface to the authorities for the assigned programs; further develop the programs in terms of market share and market positioning with all stakeholders
• Provide guidance on offers for new customers and new programs; responsible for the preparation of offers in the event of changes to contract content
• Identify and evaluate program risks (time, cost, quality) with the assigned program managers and initiate necessary countermeasures

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, economics or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional and management experience in a comparable position and/or military background (e.g., air force, procurement agencies)
• Entrepreneurial thinking with foresight and the ability to drive and shape things forward
• High degree of customer orientation, market and industry knowledge, and ability to build and develop strategic cooperations
• High degree of decision-making and implementation skills, motivation and assertiveness; excellent analytical and solution-oriented skills
