Job Description:
We are looking for an HSE Engineer, Automation Solutions to be part of our Automation Solutions global HSE team.
As HSE Engineer for Automation Solutions in EMEA you play a critical role in ensuring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards are upheld from planning through execution when delivering to our customers across Europe. As an HSE professional you collaborate deeply with the organization and take strong responsibility for achieving world-class HSE performance and customer success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the implementation of Valmet and Automation Solutions HSE processes
- Participate in the planning and execution of other global and BA HSE development initiatives
- Assist managers to conduct risk assessments and secure mitigation measures are in place, providing competent support in defining technical safety improvements.
- Evaluate compliance with customer, Valmet, and regulatory HSE rules and requirements in the operations.
- Oversee HSE incidents are reported, investigated and communicated and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Support GMS certification management for ISO 14001 and 45001 including implementation of expansion roadmap, audit management and global learnings
- Promote a strong safety culture through engagement, communication and coaching.
- Track HSE performance metrics and prepare regular written reports.
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Need:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of HSE experience.
- Experience with HSE standards such as NEBOSH, OSHA, and ISO (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) professional certifications in these areas will be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and electrical safety practices in global environment.
- Proficiency English. Other languages are an asset.
- Ability to learn and willingness to develop yourself professionally.
- Systematic and result oriented way of working.
- Ability to travel.
