A Snapshot of Your Day
You lead an engineering team focused on HVDC control systems, driving strategic development aligned with market, customer, and technology needs. Your day involves managing international projects and tenders, coordinating global training, and shaping innovative control system concepts. You ensure performance across cost, time, and quality while collaborating across departments to deliver cutting-edge HVDC solutions.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Leading an engineering team (15 employees) for HVDC control systems, including personnel planning and development for your team, as well as strategically developing the team in line with market, customer, and technological requirements.
  • Monitoring and managing team performance regarding cost, time, and quality in the context of international projects.
  • Deploying and training employees from cooperating HUBs, CoCs, and CoEs worldwide.
  • Creating and defining control system concepts for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology, coordinating and developing future innovative concepts and solutions in alignment with overarching and adjacent departments as well as the development platform.
  • Project execution tasks: internal and external concept and customer clarifications, supervising software development, documentation, testing, and verifying functionality in functional/dynamic performance tests, and providing commissioning support for HVDC systems.
  • Tender tasks: coordinating concept and customer clarifications, preparing proposal documentation, and cost calculation.

What You Bring

  • A successfully completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Power Engineering
  • Longlasting professional experience in the design and testing of control systems, along with leadership experience.
  • Excellent knowledge in the fields of converter and high-voltage technology, comprehensive expertise in control systems.
  • Professional competence in HVDC system technology, automation technology, protection, and control systems.
  • Intercultural competence and confident interaction with customers and external business partners, handling of negotiations and conflict situations
  • Willingness to travel (for customer clarifications, after-sales assignments, etc.); Fluent English skills; German is desirable.
