Smartkarma’s cloud-based platform leverages the latest in technology to provide a network for independent research analysts to curate and monetize research in an innovative and new way. 

• Independent analysts covering more than 4,000 companies now contribute to Smartkarma’s cloud-based platform.
• Insights are published daily with active minute-by-minute discussions, where themes and ideas are debated, discussed and questioned among a community of experts, in real time.
• Over 200 leading institutional asset managers have subscribed, including sovereign wealth funds, global asset managers, hedge funds, boutiques and family offices, worldwide.
• Our top 10 clients alone have over $14 trillion under management. Our investors include Sequoia Capital, Singapore Exchange (SGX), Wavemaker Partners, Jungle Ventures and Spring Seed.

Smartkarma is seeking a senior analyst or analyst team to build ongoing research coverage of all US IPOs and direct listings with an expected deal size of [USD100mn or higher, excluding closed-end funds and SPACs].

Research coverage will entail: 

• Data-driven methodology to score and rank deals
• Pre-IPO company tearsheet 
• Pre-IPO fundamental research
• Pre-IPO valuation and pricing insights
• Post-IPO trading summary
• Post-IPO lock-up expiry preview 

Within the first six months, the senior analyst or analyst team will also be expected to offer a high-touch service for select institutional clients covering:

• Pre-deal: 
  • Pre-positioning
  • Market intelligence/positioning/book color
  • Management meeting questions
  • Excel models
  • Bespoke notes for pre-IPO/cornerstone stake (NDA-driven) 
• Post-deal: 
  • Lock-up expiry trades
• Desk access: 
  • Access to team via email/messaging
  • Direct calls
• Extensive research and/or investment experience for institutional clients (5 yrs+) 
• Demonstrated experience and network within US equity capital markets
• Demonstrated ability to write research
