Interim technical advisor (f/m/d)

For a project we are looking for an Interim technical advisor (f/m/d).

Your tasks will be:

• Provide technical and project management support for HVDC converter stations, onshore cabling projects, and related infrastructures
• Set up and coordinate project management systems, procedures, and processes (EHS, compliance, time, contract, and quality management)
• Act as neutral advisor and mediator between project stakeholders, while reporting to the appointed Engineer
• Manage and oversee inquiries, technical reviews, and evaluations on behalf of the client on an “on demand” basis
• Prepare, monitor, and optimize cost estimates, calculations, and variation orders; identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities, including monitoring, reporting, and mitigation
• Review, validate, and monitor designs and feasibility studies; identify potential design issues early
• Contribute to value engineering workshops and ensure incorporation of outcomes into project designs
• Support contract execution, including review of variation orders, negotiations, disputes, and claims management
• Advise the client on legal, regulatory, and permit implications for project changes and execution
• Facilitate design reviews, technical proposal comparisons, and ensure alignment with codes, standards, and approvals
• Support technical discussions and clarification of queries between stakeholders without formal contractor engagement
• Provide structured, clear, and timely reporting, recommendations, and documentation to avoid project delays
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, contractual requirements, and statutory approvals at all times
• Organize and attend project progress meetings with the client and the Owner’s Engineer to report on status, issues, and risks

Following Know-howisrequired:

• At least 5 years of experience in project management and contract management for HV AC and DC transmission systems, as well as engineering for HV AC and DC primary and secondary technology
• Familiarity with onshore cabling projects, including permitting and compliance with EU and national regulations
• Strong understanding of FIDIC contract standards and claims management
• Expertise in risk management (identification, mitigation, reporting) for large-scale infrastructure projects
• Proven experience in cost estimation, cost control, and variation order handling
• Strong stakeholder management and mediation skills between engineering firms, contractors, and clients
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams (civil, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and contractual)
• Excellent reporting and documentation skills (structured, concise, actionable recommendations)
• Strong language skills in German and English, both spoken and written
• International experience and/or proven track record working in international teams
