IT Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

Client looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer for their North of Germany location (Dusseldorf area). Freelance opportunity for a 6-month assignment. On-site, full-time (40 hours per week) with potential travel to Austria during the project.

Requirements include fluent German and English (oral and written) and the ability to travel within country and across the EU/UK as needed.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on IT services onsite at L1/L2/L3/L4 levels.
• Office migration: collaborate with project managers to deliver and support the migration to a new office location (approx 1 mile).
• Standards implementation: set up and standardize backend servers, networking, desktops, printers, and other IT infrastructure in the new office with global teams.
• Documentation: create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT processes and systems.
• Third-party coordination: work with external contractors to ensure seamless integration and support.
• Task management: prioritize and manage tasks using the Azure DevOps board.
• Agile team participation: actively participate in an agile team environment.
• Language proficiency: communicate effectively in English and German, both orally and in writing.
• Travel requirements: ability to travel within the country and across the EU, including the UK.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of IT infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proficiency in IT infrastructure management, including servers, networking, and desktop support.
• Experience working with third-party contractors.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability of IT systems and documentation.
• Security awareness: understanding IT security principles to protect company data and systems.
• Experience in user training and desktop upgrades.
• Ability to create detailed statements of work.
• Experience in office migration projects.
• Meraki / Palo Alto background is an advantageous plus.
