IT Operations Engineer (f/m/d) - 1 year contract Maternity Cover 
 We are looking for an experienced IT Operations Engineer (f/m/d) to help us operate and improve our distributed systems and automation pipelines. You will manage high‑availability infrastructure, implement new solutions, and collaborate with colleagues in Munich, Regensburg, and Bucharest. This position offers the opportunity to develop deeper expertise in Linux, automation, and high‑availability environments. 
 Our OPS team is distributed across three main locations – Munich, Regensburg, and Bucharest – and collaborates closely with other teams across the IONOS Group. We manage a diverse and modern tech stack, including Kubernetes, Proxmox, Ansible, and databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. We value collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement. 
 Tech stack includes: Debian Linux, SmartOS, Kubernetes, Proxmox, KVM, VMware, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, MySQL, Percona Cluster, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, HAProxy, ProxySQL, Pacemaker, Heartbeat, Keepalived, PowerDNS, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, OpenVPN, pfSense, routing, VLANs, and BGP. 
 Tasks 
  - Administer Debian Linux server systems and operate highly available, distributed environments. 
  - Customize and manage HA solutions, storage systems, and virtualization technologies. 
  - Monitor servers and services to ensure stability and performance. 
  - Automate administration tasks and deployments using Ansible, GitLab pipelines, and Kubernetes. 
  - Support services for key customers and participate in a rotating on‑call schedule. 
  - Collaborate with teams in Munich, Regensburg, and Bucharest to maintain service quality and reliability. 
   
 Qualifications 
  - 2–4 years of experience with Linux systems (Debian preferred). 
  - Experience managing on‑premises data center infrastructure. 
  - Proficiency in configuring and maintaining web servers (nginx, Apache). 
  - Hands‑on experience with MySQL administration and HA setups. 
  - Familiarity with Kubernetes, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines. 
  - Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar). 
  - Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher; B1 acceptable). German is advantageous. 
  - A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with attention to reliability and scalability. 
   
 Additional Qualifications 
  - Experience configuring and maintaining firewall and VPN solutions (OpenVPN, pfSense). 
  - Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios. 
  - Experience implementing backup solutions. 
  - Networking knowledge (routing, VLANs, BGP).
